Week 25 and Christmas!

I am currently 25 weeks, 6 days pregnant and trucking along. Entering the last week of my 2nd Trimester, YAY! That means only 14 weeks give or take a few days maybe.

These past few days have been great! We always spend Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas day with Mike's. I am pretty sure that my unborn child got almost as many gifts as me, hahaha. That's ok. I like baby gifts equally as well I think.

There is so much to do over the next 14 weeks in preparation for James to come. Here's a few:

- Birth, Breast Feeding and Infant CPR Classes.
- Get the nursery set up and together.
- Order the rocker.

The list could go on and on. Luckily I have already found a nursery school to keep him in a couple days a week while I have to work. That's a BIG one to cross off. They are great and very flexible, which I LOVE!

Anyway, Not much else to report. I am getting bigger by the day I feel. In the last four days even... still very strange. But baby needs room to grow, so it's ok. Starting on Christmas night, I started having another bout of the round ligament pain. So much so it hurt to do anything. Sit, stand, go to the bathroom, eat, walk, you get the picture. It lingered the day after too and is just now starting to settle down on Tuesday morning. But it didn't hurt as bad as the first time I guess. So I will spend today picking up the house, getting everything cleaned up and ready to put back in the attic along with a little after Christmas shopping to see if I can find any good deals on things. We shall see!

Weeks 23 & 24

Officially hit the 6 Month Mark!! Only 4 more to go or less, hopefully!

Funny story. I was watching LIVE with Kelly this morning and Michael Buble was her co-host. He was talking about how he and his wife are "practicing" right now for a baby and asked Kelly for any advice. She said, Let me tell you something... after month 7, there's no reason to be pregnant anymore because you are just stalling the inevitable and you're over it by then anyway. She then proceeded to say to SLEEP as much as you can now. Sleep in even if you wake up, go back to sleep. She thought when her oldest son was 14 weeks old and he wasn't sleeping that she would be able to sleep once he was 14. Still, no sleep. HA! If you knew that you would never sleep again, you surely wouldn't have kids!!!! I mean, common sense right- I guess not!

Saturday, my sister-in-law Lynsie and myself went to lunch and then over to Babies R Us to register for my baby shower in a little over a month from now! Let me preface this... I was really excited to go. Almost more excited than registering for my own wedding. I guess it's just a different feeling of "awe, this is baby stuff and who doesn't love shopping for a baby, especially since it's your own little person". It's going to be like Christmas 2x coming up! Very exciting times. ANYWAY, lunch was great, went to Olive Garden, had the soup-salad-breadstick combo and were on our merry way. Once we got to the R Us, I figured it would probly take around 2 hours at the most to sign up, register and get everything done. Well, there were about 3-4 other couples there as well doing the same thing that we were. No Mike wasn't there with me. Why, you ask... he doesn't take interest in baby things like I or should I say women do. He had no desire to go and spend 2 hours in a baby store. There were other husbands there and that was probably a great thing for those wives, but me, I am GLAD that I had Lynsie. Guys don't know what is good/bad or different from the next bottle or diaper cream. There was one couple, bless them who had spent 1 hour just in the carseat/ stroller section trying to decide what they liked best and then second guessing their choices. While every other time I had been into the store before looking to see what I liked while being pregnant and feeling overwhelmed, I didn't have the sense of " OMG, I can't possibly come in here and go through everything and be ok with the choices I have made" attitude, I was feeling very relaxed and confident today! In fact, I think that we had a great time! It was a breeze for the most part. There is a lot of stuff to go through though.

Here's a couple pictures! Thanks Lyns!

Weeks 21 & 22

Well, not too much to report for the past couple weeks except the time is flying by. I guess now that I am feeling better, I can enjoy and not have to worry about too much anymore! Week 21 was Thanksgiving and that was so great! I really enjoyed being pregnant on a food holiday :) I was so excited to eat everything and not have to worry about getting sick. Thankful for both of my families and friends this year! Also to note, that week, Mike was able to feel James too for the first time! It was a neat experience! I can't wait for the rest of the family to feel him too!

I am feeling more movement every day and can't wait to actually tell whether it's a kick or a punch instead of a tummy jab! My belly is getting bigger by the week, which I have now grown to somewhat accept. It's a strange thing having a human grow inside of you and watching your body expand compensate for the room needed. Below is my 22.5 week belly! There he is.

Sorry for the awkward picture! I didn't feel like including my top half in there :) I also feel like I am a lot bigger than I actually am, hahaha. No stretch marks to date and feeling pretty great lately other than the usual aches of the uterus!! This coming weekend, I am going to go to Babies R Us and register for James. After doing A LOT of research as to what's popular and safe I now have narrowed my stroller and car seat choices down to 2! Can't wait for saturday!

Best moment this week: Mike being able to feel him move and feeling movement all the time!!
Missing Anything: Champagne and turkey sandwiches, not together though.
Movement: All throughout the day!
Food cravings: I am beginning to think that I am not going to have any, which is fine!

Baby's Size: 11" from head to toe, the length of a spaghetti squash. Weighs almost 1 pound.

Week 20 and... IT'S A BOY!!!

Only a week late, Sorry!

We went in last Thursday the 17th for our first and probably only ultrasound. I was some what nervous/ anxious just because this was the first time that we would be able to see what or should I say who was in there!! We walked into the Dr. office and checked in. I of course had to already to go the bathroom because well, I go to the bathroom A LOT! They finally called my name after about 15 minutes of waiting. Into the ultrasound room we went and into the adjacent bathroom I went, ha. As soon as I came out it was time to get down to business.

It was surprising to me to find that the gel they put all over your abdomen was really warm, not cold like I had anticipated. Our utlrasound tech, although I don't remember her name, was very nice with an accent. Then up on the big TV Screen popped up our little person :) I was thinking how cool it was to even be there in that room in the first place, but when I saw the baby for the first time, it literally melted my heart. To see him moving around and squirming in there was so surreal. Modern medicine is amazing and I am so thankful that everything checked out. He is a little guy right now, has a lot of growing to do, but is perfectly healthy and I would like to think happy in there most days :) He measured normal and nothing looked out of place, Praise The Lord! He is perfect!!

It was by far the best most exciting 45 minutes of my life to date. I think that daddy thought it was pretty amazing too, not to mention the fact that we found out baby is a BOY! Mike was thrilled, but kept that in. I wasn't overly emotional surprisingly. I think that I only shed one maybe two tears. Below is baby's first 3d picture....

James Richard Guest!!!
James, for Mike's dad and Richard, for my dad. He is named after the 2 best dad's I know :)
He is still due to arrive on or around April 5th, 2012. The ultrasound tech said that I was measuring right at 19 weeks and 6 days.

Mike and I decided to get our families together all at the same time and tell them what the baby was and what we had named him. So, we found out and then sent out his picture, but didn't say anything to anyone for 2 whole days. Not as hard as I thought it would be. I somewhat liked having this BIG secret all to ourselves for a little bit before anyone else would find out. We had it over at Mickey and Merry's house, theirs is a lot bigger than ours and they had a big grill! It was a blast and I am pretty sure that everyone had a great time! Everyone had their guesses as to what baby guest would be, but most everyone thought it was a boy! Except my Britney, she was wanting the baby to be a girl so badly. Poor girl. All were very excited and happy to find that baby was a boy and when we told what we were going to name him, the fathers got a little teary-eyed! It was really special :) Great Night!

In other news, no furniture ordered just yet. I think that Mike is realizing that we need to get on the ball though. So, hopefully to ring in the new year we'll buy the crib? Who knows. All I do know is that this is really beginning to fly by!

Week 19

So right now as I sit at my computer, I am currently 19 weeks and 6 days pregnant! Yes, tomorrow, I enter the HALF WAY MARK!!!! FINALLY!!!!!

Last Wednesday around 2:00pm to be exact, I was having horrible lower abdomen pains. I literally thought I might die. I had read while back when I first found out I was pregnant about round ligament pain and thought that was maybe the problem. Either that or I was having monsterous gas pains- EWE! Luckily it wasn't the latter problem :) Anyway, I haven't been one of those pregnant women who reads about everything and becomes a hypochondriac and freaks myself out about pains. Thank goodness for Google! Turns out that it was just the uterus stretching to make room for baby. Even though I think it's gross to think about the baby is supposed to double in size over the next few weeks, so it's wasn't big enough to move around in there!

That night, while in my leftover numbing pain, I REALLY felt the baby moving for the first time and alot too! It's amazing to me that something that feels like gas bubbles is infact baby's first movements. I wonder what an elbow into the rib will feel like :) All of the wonderful things to come I suppose. Ever since that day, I have been feeling the baby move more and more throughout the days!

Tomorrow, we have the 20 week ultrasound. We FINALLY get to see what has been making me so sick in there for the past 5 months and I can't wait! I am feeling better now. Back to about 90%, but I'm afraid if I say 100% then i'll get sick again. I have come a long way in about 4 days. My hunger is a little more manageable and sleep is too. It's just finding things to eat that sound good. I still have not had any cravings what so ever. Good or bad thing, who knows!!

I still have no picture to post, but after saturday, I will a lot! I do have a visible bump now that is growing bigger by the day. After the stretching took place last week, that is right when i really popped! Here are the 19 week updates, stay tuned this weekend for pictures!

How far along: 19.5 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 2 lbs so far as of last week, but I weighed myself this morning and there was about 4 additional pounds on there.
Maternity clothes: wearing my jeans all the time and some striped shirts I bought. It's hard to find things that I like though.
Stretch marks: none.
Sleep: Alright, nothing to write home about sadly.
Best moment this week: feeling the baby and feeling almost 100% again.
Missing Anything: Sleep.
Movement: alot this week.
Food cravings: no.
Started showing yet: nope.
Gender prediction: No idea.
Labor signs: Nope.
Belly button in or out: In!
Wedding rings on or off: On.
Happy or moody: happy, most of the day!
Looking forward to: Finding out whether the baby is a boy or girl :)
Baby's Size: 6" from head to bottom, size of a large heirloom tomato.
Development: Baby can now hear my voice and others as well :) Everything is proportionate and the brain is designating the specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision and touch!

Week 17

WOW, almost half way there! I really can't believe that we are only about 5 more months away from meeting this little baby that I have only been thinking about since I was old enough to want to become a mommy!

I had my 17 week appointment this past Tuesday morning. Mike had to work so I went by myself since it wasn't anything important. This time they asked me if I wanted the genetic testing done, since it's usually at this point in the pregnancy that happens. After speaking with alot of people about it, some wanting to know if their babies were going to have any problems and some that just didn't want to know altogether because either way it wasn't going to matter, I declined the test.

Mike and I don't believe in abortion. If this baby ends up having special needs or is perfectly normal, either way, it's going to be loved more than anything else that we have ever done in our entire lives. No matter how much you prepare, i don't think that any book or article or research one can do can fully prepare you for your children. They are who they are and will be who they will be! Nothing can make me change my mind about that!

I got to hear the baby's heart beat again :) It was strong at 140, 20 beats less per minute this time around. Everything was as it should be! This midwife said that the baby is hidden somewhat in there because I have such a long torso, so I won't look as big so soon? Hmmm, maybe that's why I am not really showing at all yet? Oh by the way, she thinks that it might be a boy :) Mike was SO EXCITED when I told him that! But he will be happy with whatever God blesses us with of course!

I made the gender ultrasound appointment for November 17th at 9:15am... Mike will be there for this one! We can't wait to find out whether the baby is a boy or girl! They are already named, it will just be nice to attach it to them :) and then comes the fun BBQ with our families that saturday after to announce what we are having! That's going to be the best week ever! Thanksgiving will only be 5 DAYS after that! Ugh, best timing and best time of the year in my opinion. Then I can really plan everything!! YAY! Ok, pregnancy update time:

Generally the same as the boys, but different color schemes. I am going to re-add a couple pics!

There are a few different options for the fabrics that I am thinking of:

October 11, 2011

Week 14

Ok, time now is really starting to go quicker than it originally did the first 10 weeks. I can remember thinking to myself right around week 6 and not being able to see the Dr. until week 8 for my first appointment that it is taking forever to reach only 8 weeks. I then subsequently thought the same exact thing about my 12 week appointment too! now that I am almost to my 15 week mark, holy cow, it's starting to go faster, but this is week 14. we'll get to 15 weeks soon enough!

I have made the decision about everything pretty much for the nursery- I think!! I am still thinking that its going to be a girl, but if it's a boy, I am already prepared for what will happen decor-wise in his room!! Here are the boy ideas I have come up with. Let me give a preliminary explanation as to why I choose the fabrics I did!

1. Because they are Amy Butler fabrics and I LOVE the bright colors. they make me smile, A LOT!
2. I wanted something different and unique, even thought it's not the most overly masculine colors, they are still boy colors.

Here we go with Baby Boy nursery Ideas:

Crib:

Dresser:

Just a white painted one that we are taking from our room to double as a dresser/ changing table combo!

Rocker:

A slipcovered rocker and matching ottoman. This color is a very light green, but I don't know if that will go better than the off-white color. We will have to see.

Fabrics:

Area Rug: Dash & Albert

I also wanted to have either the Light blue/ aqua drapery panels or a roman shade made for the window. I am not too sure about wall decor just yet since we are in a rental and I really do, but don't want to repaint the walls. I am thinking some type of initials though. Anything with a monogram I LOVE!! Maybe some wall shelves for display and a book rack for ready to my little babe. Ok..... on to the

Week 13

Yes, folks I have just about made it out of the 1st official trimester of my 1st pregnancy. To say that this has been easy would, of course be a lie, but I do realize that it also could be A LOT worse. I am thankful that it hasn't been worse. This week the most memorable thing that has happened this week was baby furniture shopping. How do you decide what is going to be good. I know what I like, but what I like and what I want to spend are two completely different things. I think that these are the 2 cribs I am in between right now. I like completely different things about them, but can't decide which I like best:

Lucky for me I have plenty of time to pick everything out since the baby won't be here for another 6 months! I have picked out other things too already, but since I am about 2 weeks behind in my posting, I will do my weekly update for yall and move onto the next 2 weeks :)

Food cravings: nothing, but I am able to eat chicken again, Praise the Lord!

Labor signs: Nope.
Belly button in or out: In!
Wedding rings on or off: On.
Happy or moody: Pretty Happy!
Looking forward to: a little belly and hearing the heartbeat again!

September 23, 2011

Another week down and only 28 more to go!

We had our first real dr. appointment on the 21st! My midwife did the regular OB check that's required and we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time! It was the best sound I have ever heard and was really strong and fast!

Some people say the faster the heartbeat, that means it's a girl! I guess that next time we'll have to see if it's still fast.

WEEK 11

Good morning,

I am home today due to now having 2 days off from work a week (sigh of relief)! I haven't been feeling well at all the past 4 weeks and it has been a rough ride trying to beat the nausea and having to eat every 2 hours to do that! Each week I have decided that I am going to start doing pregnancy updates, so starting with week 11:

How far along: 11 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 0 as of last week.
Maternity clothes: not just yet. maybe within the next few weeks i'll buy a belly band or something.
Stretch marks: none.
Sleep: pretty good so far, just trying to get comfrtable sometimes on my back or stomache for long periods of time isn't really possible for too much longer. Oh and having to get up 2-4 times a night to pee.
Best moment this week: Getting generic zofran to help with nausea in the afternoon and evenings!
Missing Anything: being able to eat a turkey sandwich without heating the meat first or feeling bad when i get a deli sandwich. They are tasting so good though. Oh and ice coffee.
Movement: not feeling anything yet.
Food cravings: I haven't had any cravings, just aversions. Chicken and the smell of it makes me sick and also certain veggies too.
Started showing yet: not really, but my belly is getting fuller. This week I noticed my pants getting slightly tighter. I am having to use the rubberband method on some of my jeans, ha!
Gender prediction: I really haven't a clue at this point.
Labor signs: I would hope not!!
Belly button in or out: In!
Wedding rings on or off: On.
Happy or moody: Happy most of the time. Upset or sad when I am not feeling good.
Looking forward to: my 12 week appointment to hear the heartbeat and maybe see our baby for the first time!!!

I don't have a pic to post right now so I will post pics next week for sure, maybe one of the baby too!

Re-Start

Welcome back!
Or should I be saying this to myself! I think so considering I have been gone for oh, 2+ years from the blogging world, but I will say that I am going to make an effort to keep everything updated as possible from here on out!

Last time we left off with I believe moving to the Stuart area. ALOT hasn't necessarily changed in that aspect, just facets of our life! So hold on as I update this quickly and bring you are around to speed!

1. We have lived here for almost 2 YEARS!! That still seems unbelievable to me, but it's true.
2. We are looking to buy our first house within the next 6 months or so... that's going to be a wild ride, but needs to be done!
3. Last and most importantly not least since there also have been so many other things that have happened, Mike and I are expecting our first BABY! This is exciting news for us and has been a while coming, but better late than never- right???

So, that is where I will stop because I have chores to do and have been really lazy today. Trying to recover from being so sick yesterday I think. This kid is already sucking the life out of me :)

Until tomorrow...
